Spotify Canvas & Cover Art Tips

• Keep Canvas text minimal: Spotify rejects Canvases with watermarks, CTAs (“Stream now”, “Pre-save”), social-media handles, or QR codes. Treat Canvas as visual mood, not a poster — the track and artist name are already overlaid by Spotify’s UI.
• Design the loop point: Canvas plays on a 3–8 second loop with no transition. Avoid a hard cut between the last and first frame — match the motion or use a slow camera move that wraps cleanly.
• Cover art at 3000x3000 even if you only need 640: Spotify downscales the same upload across every surface, from the lock screen to Spotify for Artists. Uploading the master at 3000 keeps the art crisp on retina displays years from now.
• Avoid store-front text on cover art: distributors and Spotify will reject cover art containing pricing, “new album” labels, social URLs, or distributor logos. Keep the cover purely the art and the artist/title.
• Use sRGB, not Adobe RGB or P3: Spotify converts everything to sRGB on ingest. Working and exporting in sRGB avoids unexpected hue shifts when your art appears in the app.
• Playlist covers compress harder than you’d expect: Spotify re-encodes playlist covers with very aggressive quality settings. Use bold shapes, flat colors, and large text — fine textures and gradients turn to mush at 640x640.
